Translating Patents is a specialist patent translation service focused primarily on German- and Russian-to-English patent translation.
Our work is built on more than a decade of practical experience with patent applications and related documentation, together with close attention to technical context, patent terminology and the consistency of language across claims, descriptions and drawings.
Translating Patents was founded by Jaime Holmes, a specialist patent translator whose work has included extensive experience with PCT/WIPO and EPC/EPO patent documentation across a broad range of technical fields.
Our approach combines language expertise with technical research and careful contextual analysis. Where appropriate, this may involve consulting patent families, priority documents, drawings, reference signs and relevant prior art in order to establish meaning and maintain terminology consistently throughout a translation.
While specialist translation remains at the heart of Translating Patents, the brand is also developing as a platform for sharing knowledge about patents, patent language and inventions through articles, explainers and visual media.
We believe that specialist experience, careful research and a genuine understanding of the technology behind an invention are fundamental to producing precise and reliable patent translations.
