Translation revision
Already have an English translation?
We can revise existing German-to-English and Russian-to-English patent translations against the original source document.
Revision can be a cost-effective option where an existing translation is already of a suitable standard. Because a thorough bilingual revision still requires detailed comparison of the source and target texts, terminology checking, research and quality assurance, the saving over a new translation will depend on the quality of the existing text.
We will assess the material before quoting. Where extensive correction would be required, we will advise if producing a fresh translation is likely to offer the better solution.
Practical information
We can work with both editable documents and a range of PDF and image-based source files.
Scanned and image-based documents can also be accommodated. Where OCR conversion or additional document preparation is required before translation, this will be identified when the material is assessed and any additional cost will be explained clearly in the quotation.
Where scan quality is especially low, we will first assess whether the material can be processed reliably.
